Meet Shanika Aiken

MEET
SHANIKA AIKEN

Shanika Aiken, originally from White Plains, New York, and now residing in Orangeburg, South Carolina, graduated with Honors from Claflin University with a degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice Administration. She is a certified facilitator for Girl Circle, which supports resiliency and healthy relationships in young women.

In 2014, Shanika founded the SAFE Organization (Self-esteem, Advocacy, Faith, and Education), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to mentoring youth and providing educational resources in Orangeburg and surrounding areas. The organization also created a Youth Advisory Board to empower young leaders. In addition, Shanika has volunteered with the Department of Juvenile Justice and worked with local initiatives like the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. She also teaches nonprofit courses to aspiring community leaders.

Alongside her husband, Marion, Shanika runs businesses such as Love Expressions Yard Signs and Marion’s Southern Food Cart, all under the mission of "Bringing Families Together." Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and her church.
