The S. A. F. E. organization has positively impacted many lives of young ladies over the years. Before volunteering to work with the organization, I worked for many years with children and young people in the school system. Becoming a volunteer with SAFE allowed me to continue to work with young people, especially young ladies. They value the opportunity to be community helpers in nursing homes, food pantries, and other community outreach programs. These young ladies also value the input shared by us as older adults. Mrs. Aiken and the SAFE organization has definitely changed lives and will continue to do so in the future.

The girl empowerment day is a day of spreading love, and encouragement. I have learned so much about myself, and made a lot of new friends. My connection with God became stronger. I learned who I was as a young women and set great expectations for myself. The girl empowerment day is a day for uplifting our young girls and it has been an honor to be a part of it these last couple of years.
