S.A.F.E. Scholarship Application

For SC residents only.

The SAFE Organization grants scholarships to graduating high school girls, alleviating the financial strain of acquiring essentials for college.

The criteria includes:

A completed application
At least a "B" average
An acceptance letter from the intended college
Two letters of recommendation
Proof of community service

Deadline to submit is April 30, 2025. The recipient will be notified by May 30, 2025. The amount of award varies but at a minimum $500.

We will award the recipient at our annual Women & Girl Empowerment Day Saturday, June 28, 2025 on the campus of Claflin University Student Service, 1801 Magnolia St, Orangeburg, SC 29115

Proof of Community Service

Proof of community service may include a letter from the organization, volunteer hours log, certificate, photos, email confirmation, affidavit, or project report.

Essay

Your essay should be 300-500 words. You should address in your essay: your college goals and choice of major, what you intend to do with your education, include any academic and non-academic accomplishments, and what makes you uniquely worthy of this scholarship consideration.
