GIRL EMPOWERMENT
DAY
Girl Empowerment Day started in June 2015. GED is an annual event for girls ages 11-17. Our first GED was held at Branchville High School in Branchville, SC., and over 40 girls attended. The purpose of GED is to create an opportunity for girls to be empowered, feel inspired and to leave educated. Ultimately, we want them to be all they were created to be and to use their God-given potential to change the world. The day is full with breakout sessions, painting, Zumba, motivational speaking and so much more! We discussed topics such as Teen Dating Violence, Cyber Bullying, Etiquette, Self-Defense, Financial Literacy, Love-Sex and Relationships, and Preparing for Prom just to name a few. At GED girls have a chance to make new friends and bond with the old ones. Free lunch and snacks are provided as well as a t-shirt and tote bag.
